This is the craziest thing: an egg within an egg. How can this be? According to an article on msn.com it is very rare, but can happen. “As the egg develops, a series of abnormal contractions can occur, pushing the egg back up the chicken’s ‘tubes’ leaving one egg surrounded by another, and they both develop shells.”
What do you think? Is it real or fake?
Growing up, eggs have always been a huge part of my diet. There were mornings when I would come in from gathering eggs, crack them in the skillet, and out would come a feathery surprise (this only happened once). Or, there would be double yokes, but never, not once, was there ever an egg within an egg. So, in honor of the world’s largest chicken egg at a little over six ounces (true or not), I made egg burritos last night and they were delish.
Until next time, happy trails!
